Tanzania in real time: technology and construction monitoring

By · , updated

Droneit's international project in Tanzania, installing construction monitoring cameras for the expansion of Pemba Airport, Zanzibar

This time our story has taken us to Tanzania, where we have been part of a major project: installing a camera system to document and supervise the rehabilitation and expansion works at Pemba Airport, in Zanzibar, for Propav Infraestructuras, the company responsible for delivering the project.

It is a job that reflects our ability to work internationally, adapting to the needs of each project and providing technology that lets our clients stay in control of their sites, however far away they are.

Full visibility of the project, wherever you are

Building an airport is a complex process involving many teams, suppliers and construction phases. Having a continuous visual record of progress on site has become a strategic tool for decision-making.

With several cameras installed at key points of the project, the client can follow the works in real time and access a complete visual record of every stage of construction.

This solution makes it possible to:

  • Supervise progress on site from anywhere in the world.
  • Compare actual progress against the planned programme.
  • Improve coordination between international teams.
  • Produce visual material for reports, presentations and project documentation.
  • Spot issues or delays early.

A technical challenge in a demanding setting

Delivering a technology project in a setting with significant logistical and operational challenges adds a further layer of difficulty. Logistics, the availability of certain services and the nature of the location all mean every detail has to be planned precisely.

Despite the difficulties, we successfully installed several cameras, ensuring they work and transmit the images the client needs to monitor the project remotely.

Watching a site grow from thousands of kilometres away

One of the most valuable things about this project is being able to watch the land change day after day.

For the people running the project, a constant view of the site is a significant advantage. From their offices, and without having to travel back and forth, they can check the state of the works and communicate more efficiently with the teams on the ground.

Confidence and control

Visual construction monitoring has become an essential tool for large-scale projects. Beyond the images themselves, it brings transparency, control and peace of mind to those managing multi-million investments and tight deadlines.

This project in Tanzania shows that, whatever the location or the conditions, it is possible to put reliable solutions in place that bring the site closer to the people running it.

Droneit works worldwide

Installing cameras to monitor the construction of this airport is much more than a technology deployment. It shows our ability to work on international projects, take on complex challenges and deliver solutions that create real value for our clients.

From Tanzania, we keep showing that distance is no longer a barrier when technology lets you be present at every phase of the project.
