4D Time-Lapse is a service developed by Droneit that uses the latest drone and software technology to combine, with high precision, video shot at different points in time.
HOW DOES 4D TIME-LAPSE WORK?
To create a conventional time-lapse, you either take photographs of a scene over a long period and then put them in chronological order to build the video, or you record video over a long period and edit it afterwards, speeding up each part.
To produce a long-running construction time-lapse from a drone's point of view, the drone would have to stay in the air continuously, which is not currently possible because of the flight time and technical specifications of RPAS.
Droneit therefore uses software that programmes the drone's flight by GPS positioning to create flight plans that are flown at regular intervals. These store both the drone's visual route and every camera setting, so the same flight can be repeated with centimetre-level precision for as long as the event lasts.
